clear.md Named As Finalist for “Startup of the Year” at the Doctors 2.0 Conference in Paris
Minneapolis-based startup is the only American company to be named as a finalist at the conference, which is focused on healthcare innovation and patient engagement.
Minneapolis, MN— 5.20.13 — Today clear.md (www.clear.md) announced that it has been selected as a finalist for “Startup of the Year” at the Doctors 2.0 conference scheduled for June 7, 8 in Paris, France.
“A global perspective has defined our strategy since day-one. We are honored to be recognized by Doctors 2.0 in Europe as a US-company with an international identity, and we look forward to representing the Twin Cities digital health community at the conference in Paris this June,” said John Brownlee, CEO and co-founder of clear.md.
Engaging Patients Through “vidscriptionsTM”
The clear.md platform allows patients to access their healthcare provider’s expertise anytime/anywhere through vidscriptionsTM; groups of short, single-topic videos that healthcare providers can create themselves and prescribe to patients before, during, or after clinical encounters. At the Doctors 2.0 conference in Paris Dr. Ronan Kavanagh, a Rheumatologist at the Galway Clinic in Galway, Ireland, will present findings from his use of vidscriptionsTM with patients. “My videos help my patients learn about their complex medical condition at their own pace, and improve the interactions we have when we’re together in the clinic”, said Dr. Kavanagh.
Researching Impact of Digital Health
Through an ongoing series of research initiatives clear.md is building a global data set which will provide insight into the impact of digital patient engagement across a diverse group of patients and care settings. “Too often the promise of a digital health intervention is not realized due to a lack of efficacy data”, says Susan Doherty, clear.md COO. “As we increase the number of collaborative partners, one of our primary objectives is to assess the impact of vidscriptionsTM on outcomes that are important to both providers and patients.”
Clear.md was founded in 2012 by John Brownlee and Brian Kuyath and is privately held. The company operates from offices in downtown Minneapolis, MN, USA.
